Ways to Support ACTR
Invest in ACTR
Consider making a charitable contribution to ACTR. It is an investment in the health and economic vitality of Addison County. Your dollar counts: ACTR’s federal and state funding require a local match and every dollar donated to ACTR, unlocks $4. Invest in your community. Thank you.
Become a Business Sponsor
ACTR is launching a customized business sponsorship program with highly visible opportunities for local businesses to promote themselves with ACTR. The new sponsorship vehicles are designed to support local businesses’ marketing objectives while at the same time allowing businesses to invest in our growing community transportation infrastructure and publicly show support for ACTR.
The new Sponsorship Program includes the following elements that are fully customizable based on your organizational goals:
ACTR Bus Exteriors – Sponsor an 18” x 30” space on the outside of the buses – join National Bank of Middlebury, Mid-State Towing and others who have discovered a highly visible way to promote their business on the side of our buses (2 full color magnets, $650 per year; you supply the artwork, we supply the magnets).
ACTR Website Banners – New this year! Be on this website. The listing includes 1” x 3” artwork (you provide) with a link to your website. Prices start at $135 for 3 months. Check out the spaces below with some of our past sponsors. We are waiting for your business logo and website link to update and add to this banner!
Bus Shelter Sponsorship – Also, new this year! ACTR has installed weather and tamper resistant space for 11” x 17” signage visible from both inside and outside of the Merchant’s Row Bus Shelter in downtown Middlebury. This location is highly trafficked along the green in downtown. There are more than 47,000 rides per year associated with this bus stop – where all 5 ACTR bus routes originate. And, plans for bus shelters in New Haven, Vergennes and Bristol as well as other locations in Middlebury are in the works, creating more marketing opportunities for local businesses.
Bus Map and Schedule Brochure – The brochure publishes each fall and is available all year long in hard copy and as a downloadable file on the ACTR website. 10,000 hard copies are distributed annually. Prices start at $175 for 1″ x 3″ (you provide the artwork).
Volunteer with ACTR
Volunteer to Drive
Our volunteer drivers provide an invaluable service for Addison County. Many residents need to get to medical appointments or buy food or have access to other critical services but have no transportation of their own and cannot use our buses.
Driver Benefits
As a volunteer for ACTR you give your time but receive many benefits in return.
- Reimbursement at the federal mileage rate for all miles driven.
- Discounts on tires and service at County Tire Center.
- Additional liability insurance coverage over and above your vehicle insurance.
- Medical insurance coverage if you are accidentally injured outside of your vehicle.
- Access to free driver training courses and potential vehicle insurance discounts.
And, most importantly you’ll have good feelings from helping those in need! Volunteer drivers play a crucial role in our organization. Contact ACTR to join the ACTR Volunteer Driver team – you will find it a rewarding experience!
Other ways to Volunteer
ACTR needs your help. Do you like marching in holiday parades? Walk along with the ACTR bus during the Memorial Day parades in Middlebury and Vergennes or the Bristol July 4th parade. Pass out brochures and candy to parade-goers. Do you have time to help gather petition signatures for ACTR? Each fall ACTR is required to submit petitions to towns to get on town ballots asking for ACTR’s annual town funding. Do you like people? Staff an ACTR table at events in the county educating folks on ACTR’s role as the community transportation provider. Pass out brochures and ACTR stuff. Have other ideas? Contact ACTR.
