Volunteer Drivers for ACTR Wanted

ACTR is always looking for volunteer drivers. Our volunteer drivers provide an invaluable service for Addison County. Many residents need to get to medical appointments or buy food or have access to other critical services but have no transportation of their own and cannot use our buses.

Career Opportunities at Vermont Public Transportation Association

Vermont Public Transportation Association (VPTA), a 501(3) not for profit, the Statewide Medicaid transportation broker working collaboratively with member agency transportation providers around the state to provide Medicaid transportation, is seeking a Program Manager.

Program Manager

Principle Duties:
Manage the VPTA office, review invoices, distribute weekly payments, answer client questions or complaints and/or direct their responses to member agencies, and provide required reports to state agencies.

Position hires, trains and manages the Administrative Assistant.

Establish and maintain honest, prompt and professional relationships with state agencies, particularly the Vermont Department of Health Access (DVHA). Provide required reports to them on a timely basis. Comply with all their requirements, policies, contracts, etc.

Work with member agencies on acquiring their data on a timely and properly formatted basis to send to DVHA, plus manage project finances, oversee the accounting and processing of payments, audits, tax reporting monthly and annual financial reports. Education – four year college degree.

Must have computer skills and the ability to work for a Board of Directors, manage a small call center and have excellent communication skills.

Salary commensurate with skills, and benefit package.

Dispatcher

Responsibilities:

Match client transportation requests with available vehicles and volunteers
Provide information on STSI services
Accurately input all client and trip data into computer system
Keep client and trip data up-dated as changes occur and track on-going clients
Respond to telephone requests for future transportation needs, verify rider eligibility and maintain schedule on routine on-going rides
Maintain and update essential data and files on clients as required by grant, organization and specific program mandates
Assist with incoming mail, mailings and/or outgoing mail preparation as needed
General office filing and purging of records for storage as directed
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Program Support Administrator

Responsibilities:
Recruit new volunteers into the program
Maintain accurate files on all volunteer drivers
Collect all insurance/vehicle information from volunteer drivers; Advise drivers that they cannot drive if any paperwork is missing.
Background checks on all potential and existing drivers on an annual basis
Reference checks on all potential volunteer drivers
Orientation for new volunteer drivers
Make Quality Control calls weekly on all volunteers on a random basis and maintain accurate records of calls; Bring any issues or concerns to the Program Manager
Hold annual review with each volunteer driver
Attend any volunteer committee meetings
Enter volunteer stats into computer system
Enter volunteer driver information into computer system to allow for reimbursement to volunteer drivers; contact volunteer drivers when necessary to clarify data; verify data with Program Manager
Back up Dispatch by answering phones during the absence of Dispatch staff or when assigned
Maintain current knowledge of bus routes as well as all rules/regulations pertaining to the Dispatch area
Other duties for the Program Management or other departments as assigned.
Provide administrative support to the Program Manager by providing data to assist him/her in the Program Management role; Perform specific Program Management duties in the absence of the Program Manager

Requirements:
3 or more years of experience in an administrative support role
Experience with Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination desired
Strong analytical skills
Strong customer service skills and experience
Computer proficiency including use of Excel, Word, Outlook and database management programs
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to work independently and as a team
Ability to maintain a positive attitude
Ability to learn new software
A high level of professionalism
Strong attention to detail
Sense of humor a plus
