Guaranteed Ride Home

May 27, 2015

ACTR, in collaboration with Go! Vermont, announces a Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) Program, a peace of mind service, for bus riders.

GRH reimburses registered riders for alternative rides home when an emergency arises that keeps them from accessing their normal route home. This benefit reimburses for up to $70 worth of travel costs up to six times per year.

“One of VTrans’ goals is to provide Vermonters with energy efficient travel options,” states Ross MacDonald, VTrans’ Go! Vermont Program Manager. “The community transportation choices that Stagecoach provides are essential to this goal. But, we know that life happens and plans change which can make relying on the bus for commuting stressful. The GRH Program is meant to alleviate that stress to create an anxiety free alternative to single car commuting.”

Passengers can sign up for this rider benefit by visiting www.connectingcommuters.org. On the Go! Vermont home page, scroll down to “Join the Go! Vermont Nation” box. Once you have completed this form, you will be automatically registered for the GRH Program.

The GRH benefit is available for carpool and vanpool riders as well, once enrolled in the program.

ACTR enhances the social, environmental, and economic health of the region by providing safe, reliable, accessible and affordable community transportation services for everyone. Since 1992 we have created a network of transportation choices that connect the community to employment, medical appointments, school, grocery shopping, and other vital quality of life services.
